JR Henderson Weekly Update #16 - December 19th, 2025
Good afternoon Henderson Families,
What a year it has been—filled with learning, growth, and countless memorable moments across our school community. As we close out this exciting calendar year, on behalf of the Henderson staff, we wish everyone a joyful holiday season and a well‑deserved, restful break. We look forward to seeing you back in 2026!

On Monday, staff were spoiled by our amazing parent/guardian community yet again. The amazing array of treats were very appreciated by Henderson staff. Thank you to everyone who contributed.
December Spirit
This week, classes were alive with winter spirit. We were delighted to see the great outfits and dedication to school spirit!
EQAO Results Sent Home
On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, individual EQAO results were sent home with current Grade 4 and 7 students (last year's 3s and 6s). For families who have a Grade 7 elsewhere, there were shared with their current school for distribution, which will likely occur in the new year.
Upcoming Dental Screening
On January 13th and 14, dental screening will occur at JR Henderson for JK, SK and Grade 2 students. Dental screening involves a quick look inside the mouths of students in Junior and Senior Kindergarten, and Grade 2 as well as some students identified as having a dental problem in previous years. A no-touch technique is used where the hands of the dental hygienist do not touch the child’s mouth. A new sterile mirror is used for each student.
Hot Lunch Reminder
As a reminder, if you haven't yet, be sure to order hot lunch through https://www.lunchboxorders.net. We are offering subs on Tuesdays and pizza on Thursdays. Money raised from hot lunch goes directly back into our school community to support athletics, learning materials, student initiatives and more. Orders are due Sunday at noon for the following week. Finally, if buses are cancelled because of the weather, hot lunch will be cancelled as well. If you have questions, please email jrhschoolcouncil@gmail.com
School Council
The next School Council meeting is on Wednesday January 28th from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. Free childcare will be available.
