Announcements of bus cancellation/school closing are provided on local radio stations. On days when buses are canceled, but the school remains open, parents dropping students off at the school will need to make arrangements to pick up their children at the end of the school day.
In the event that buses are cancelled after the school day has begun, the school will contact parents/caregivers in the order designated on the school Emergency Notification Form. Bused students will be sent home on the buses ONLY if the parent or sitter or emergency contact has been contacted. Students who walk will be sent home according to emergency instructions. NO YOUNG CHILD will be sent home in severe weather unless there is someone to receive the child.
In the event of an emergency school closing such as a power failure, the Limestone District Board of Education will be contacted as well as the local radio station. The staff and students will go to Welborne Public School on Welborne Avenue, where they will remain safe. Parents will be contacted.
